Near Wheston
Found this little corner of The Peak District during a weekend walk, pretty gloomy lighting but what the heck I took a few snaps anyway. - First go at using Prescysol EF.
Bronica ETRSi and 40mm MC - 0.6 ND grad
Ilford Delta 100 (rated at 100) - Prescysol EF, semi-stand - Moersch

What the heck ... it's only another lovely monochrome! :-)
How do you scan the larger format Ernie? Does that Canon of yours facilitate
the scanning of larger negs?

Gloomy light is always the best for this type of scene.

Thanks all for your comments and interest, and the scanner I use for medium format is an ancient discontinued Heidelberg Linotype SAPHIR hi-res flatbed scanner with transparency capability, it has a max resolution of 3048dpi and a heavily engineered vibration free travelling glass platen, the scanning head does not move. It was very expensive new, slow in operation and a real heavy beast. - You can still find reference to it on the web. Great software too.
I made a series of thin aluminium masks for different formats, and using lo-tack masking tape to stretch the negative very flat over the aperture in the plate, which is simply placed flat on the glass.

There's lots to look at and admire in this image Ernie.
What are your first impressions of the Prescysol EF? Being a staining developer it gives a very different looking neg to the norm but I find that once scanned it gives a large amount of tonal range to work with. Another benefit is that I can develop a roll of HP5 & PanF in the same tank!
I used to have a SAPHIR! sold it when I dumped the last of my SCSI Macs... as you say it was built like a brick whatsit!

Hello Paul, Thanks for comment.
I have a housefull of old macs, even have an old Beig desktop somewhere.
Initial response to Prescysol is good, very fine grain indeed and lots of detail, the Delta 100 was rated at 100 but the negs seemed a bit thin, probably needs a touch longer in the soup. I used an alkaline fixer and distilled water as recommended and got a very clear base, I have loads of Pan F waiting to try as well.
