Nepal Pokhara Annapurna

    A Himalayan view from the outskirts of Pokhara, Nepal, 1974. The prominent mountains centre and right are Machupuchare and Annapurna. The old [very old] Ford Transit van in the foreground got me all the way from London to Khatmandu!

      Shouldn't it be 'Pokhara Annapurna Range'? because The peak on focus is Machhapuchre! Nevertheless,Magnificent shot!!

      MinutesAlone is right - Machupuchare is the dominant mountain in the centre and one of the most impressive mountains anywher but I was obsessed with Annapurna for many years because of the epic struggles to conquer its hardest routes and in real life it's massive bulk and height dominate the scene even though it lies miles behind. Nice comment though - much appreciated.

      It's a very beautiful picture. I visited Pokhara recently but we missed this awesome view as it was very cloudy.
