*kisses good bye chances of winning*
Sibley! (52 months ago | reply)
Well Brian this is pretty incredible. A probable winner!

Oh.
My....
...uh, goodness...
I can't find anything about this that is not winnage! I love the non-square base, and...well...everything else too!!!

Really nice, from both a Black Fantasy and Post-Apocalypse standpoint.

The fact that there's a separate body section poking out of the earth giving the impression of burrowing is just genius, GENIUS I tell you!

What a blast. Ever see 'Tremors'?

Holy Mother of Crap! That's a major compliment. Seriosly it is.
Big_X (52 months ago | reply)
Totally great. Slimy things FTW!

It does look like the worm(s) from 'Tremors'! This is all 31 flavors of sweet.

You are crushing my hopes and dreams of winning either of these contests...which would bug me if this weren't so awesome.
Dunechaser (52 months ago | reply)
The worm in the ground is certainly my favorite detail, but i also love the fact that you used a bit of green in the landscaping.

I hate you. Really nice job.

I won't deny it, this one is standing on top in my contest right now, and it probably does in Ry's as well (way to double dip Brian!). I'll attempt to rise up to the challenge in the apoc contest, and I hope for the same from the builders out there for the Black Fantasy one as well.
This is really well done Brian.
Karf Oohlu (52 months ago | reply)
Very very well done, and thanks. The brinklink order I'm waiting on to finish my "tyre" snake entry is looking a little unhappy now, will still do it I guess, just have to make it twice as good as I was going to, just to have a chance.
The flowers add a neat incongruity to the scene
brickfrenzy (52 months ago | reply)
This is really spectacular.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It was a fun build and I'm glad people seem to like it.
nnenn - Actually, I never have seen it, but I know what it's about and see the similarities.
Dunechaser - I'm pretty happy with how the colors turned out, but I used up almost all my dark green plates! :-(
Nannan - Well, there have been some great entries so far in both contests and I know there's some big ones yet to come. Like any contest though, win or lose, the real payoff is seeing all the MOCs that might not otherwise have been built. I know that's the case with mine!
cthulthu - Sorry if I stole a bit of your tire snake thunder. Really though, I'm sure entries will be judged on their own individual merits and not who posted first. Or for that matter who posted last...;-)
Again, thanks for all the feedback!

No probs Brian, certainly wasn't serious at all, it's all good fun when it comes right down to it. Just your entry was so bloody good, it stunned me a little.
Slither well and prosper : )

I guess the terrible future isn't sooooo bad if it looks so stunning. I look forward to running in vain from the mechanical terrors.

Nice and organic. Like it a lot.

The best MOC I have ever seen in my entire life.
ScubaCJ (50 months ago | reply)
The little details in this MOC make it all amazing. For instance, the way the ground rises slightly were the worm has broken the surface and other details such as the scarecrow. I love it!!
AnonymousFanatic (50 months ago | reply)
This is amazing! I'm speechless...

Never knew this was yours, mate. I have a question: Where do you get the tires you used for the 'tail'?
mondayn00dle (42 months ago | reply)
^ They’re the off-road balloon tires from the power racers line turned inside out.
Puddleglum- (40 months ago | reply)
This whole thing has a really organic feel, it's great. The mix of browns and greens, plates, slopes, and angles really sells it.
ModestLife (33 months ago | reply)
It really is a great biomech mix. Is the title a Lovecraft/ Chthulu reference? This thing erupting out of the cutesy Lego garden is hilarious! So cool.

these people are in serious need of an exterminator... or a tac-nuke. Either one would suffice
