Jubilee Red Bus London

Jubilee Red Bus London

Britain has gone mad for the Union Jack this summer. Everything you can imagine is is adorned in the national flag ahead of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth in June followed by the London Olympics in July and August.
I caught this bus on Oxford Street this morning before the hordes of shoppers arrived to buy thousands of items in red, white and blue.
This is an iPhone 4s picture.

Marmite for Ma'am

Marmite for Ma'am

Queen Elizabeth II will mark the 60th anniversary of her accession to the throne with a series spectacular events in June.
First she'll get on a boat and be followed by up to 1,000 other vessels along the Thames - the river pageant will cost £10.5million.
Then she'll hold a pop concert in her front drive (Buckingham Palace) with the help of that musical colossus Gary Barlow.
I bet she'd rather be at home eating Marmite on toast - especially as the good people at the yeast extract brand have done her a special union jack jar.

Marmite Jar, Queen's Diamond Jubilee Edition 2012, £2.55 from Tesco.
The Queen costs British citizens 62p each every year - so a family of four funds her a jar of the good stuff.

P.S. I see people are paying £15 a go for these pots on eBay.

Ken and Rabbi Joseph Stauber

Ken and Rabbi Joseph Stauber

Ken Livingstone has frequently offended Jewish people - causing upset on Israel and by reaching out to political Islamists.
But here is why some Jews think they SHOULD vote for him:

Mr Stauber has represented both the Liberal Democrats and Labour in local London politics - he appears in Livingstone's 2012 election film.

Big Boris is Watching Ken

Big Boris is Watching Ken

The bizarre morning when I was woken by the noise of a parking lorry which happened to be carrying a political poster...

Ken was Mayor.
Boris is Mayor.
Ken wants to be mayor again.
So does Boris.
It has been a bitter campaign - and this time Ken says the Blues are "on a different planet" - today he had a poster to show it.
I have voted for Ken before... this time I'm not sure.
The 5.8 miillion voters of London decide on May 3rd.
