OH Newark - Longaberger Building

I'm sure I'm the first person to ever notice this big basket-shaped building in Newark, Ohio.

Headquarters of the Longaberger Basket Company. Now what they need a really big blanket...

I love this thing. Love all the blue tones in the sky and snow.

Thanks all. Not really a "find" for me, as it's well known around here and on the covers of books and stuff, but was still glad to happen by it on a nice day.

Was just by there last weekend on our way back from the hills outside Dresden and you can see the "tribulations" of Longaberger all over it. The paint is peeling off the handles, etc.

the handles are heated to keep icicles from forming on them. there`s a terrium glass roof on the top of the building. the reason this basket is in newark and not Dresden is the owner of longaberger wanted to turn Dresden into a touist town, and didnt want any other food or gift shops popping up. but dresden started selling property to McDonalds and other fastfood places. so they moved the headquarters to newark so dresden would get no tax revenue from his company.
