Sleeping Tugboats
This was shot back in September. I had spent some time on the High Level Bridge, shooting a glorious sunset. But after the colour faded from the sky, I found myself walking back to the harbour in the dark. But I was still able to shoot my favourite tugboats.

Excellent... love the glow on the horizon and the way that the tugs are lit up!!
I also adore tugs... I once had the opportunity to "drive" one... a friend's dad was the captain... I spent a fantastic five minutes spinning donuts (going in circles) and having fun!

all the technical elements are there, and they certainly are important elements to the image, but it's the masterful composition that is most impressive......

The lighting is fantastic. The different palettes of blue really make the imagery pop. Good eye!

Wonderfully composed and lit Brook and with the long exposure, the smoothness of the water gives a dreamy quality to it.

Very nice Brook, I like the tugs purple color coordinating with the deep tones of the sky and water, nice contrasts as well.

Beautiful shot Brook! I really love the flatness of the water and I'm just amazed that the tugs are so sharp over the course of a 30 second exposure. I rarely see boats not swaying at least a little bit. I think the white glow on the horizon really helps accentuate this. What was causing that?
Great work!!
