Port Dalhousie Lighthouse

Same beach. Same evening. Taken a few minutes after the previous post. Too windy to travel, a ship lies at anchor off Port Dalhousie. It was getting dark so I needed my tripod. But even with my camera bag suspended from the centre post, the wind was lifting the tripod into the air.

Brooke, you caught more than an image here. You caught a moment in time; an experience! I can feel the wind! Excellent!

Great mood. Looks like a painting. Love the blue cast, the waves and the lighthouse light. It looks like you were not quite set up to take the photo (high grain, relatively fast shutter speed)

Wow - that's some serious chop. The grain/noise effect gives this shot a very nice painterly feel.

Why do I find myself chanting the Gordon Lightfoot's The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald? Awesome shot Brook, wish it were mine.

Came out pretty well despite the wind. I think the little lack of sharpness helps to emphasize the weather.

It was 100 kph earlier in the day, but probably gusting to about 80 kph when I took this. Hence the super-high ISO (1,250) and fast shutter. I took dozens of shots, and they were all blurry because of the wind.
