Tiffany's spring awakening

I like shooting the ice on the side of the gorge at this time of year - I'm fascinated by the shapes and colours. The falls are about 60 feet (21 metres) high, so you can see that those ice chunks are still quite large.

The smooth water and the different ice colors make for a great shot.

After I saw Proxy falls frozen I've wanted to hide an inexpensive time lapse camera there to record the process. Might be cool seeing the build up of ice and then the melt over a long period.

Both are pretty shots of the falls. I like the colors and the way the light is shining from behind in the first picture. In the second picture, the closer focus and the lighting are nice. I looked up Tiffany Falls and saw that Hamilton is called "The City of Waterfalls" and "The Waterfall Capital of the World"... a great place for shooting waterfalls!

The ice is really interesting, as is the rocky "bowl" the falls are flowing into... cool place and nicely shot!

I'm glad you told me it was ice. The silt in the ice makes it look like sandstone. How interesting.

Excellent... the waterfall is very beautiful... but for me... it's the ice stuck to the rocks that makes the shot!

The colours (of ice) are really magnificent, Brook!
You are very lucky to have so many beautiful falls to visit andto shoot!
