• Possible crop which removes some of the "empty space". I find the photo hard to balance. In the original photo all the weight is to the right. In my crop there is more of a balance, but I would have liked to see the lighthouse further to the left (In other words the photographer standing further to the right). - Pavel M

Chantry Island Lighthouse

Facing west onto Lake Huron, Southampton is famous for great sunsets. Midday light is rather boring, but since I seldom get to visit, I fired off a few shots.

Love the visual from the bird to the lighthouse. Outstanding place!

How did you ever get the lighthouse and the seagull in focus at the same time? With a 210 focal length, I would have expected the gull to be a blur! Or did you add the gull? Just curious.

I like the expanse of the image. The landscape leads my eye to both edges of the frame nice work..

I like the foreground interest of the bird standing on his own little island.

I know the place, and I've never managed to be the there at either end of the day. You've done well by bringing in the foreground gull. Excellent !!

I like the muted tones..sort of a cream and gray which is a nice colour combo...the gull in the front anchors the shot nicely Brook

I like the way the gray bands in the upper and lower parts of the picture frame the center of the shot. The picture has a nice feel to it.
