Transformer: Gitzo Man

First there was the Michelin man...now here's GITZO man!

Gitzo GH2750QR off centre ball head (on G2330 tripod)

To show movement options of the head multiple images were combined in Photoshop CS3. The android resemblance was not intended...but looks cool...

Photographed with a D300 with Micro-Nikkor 105mm F2.8, mounted on a Gitzo G2220 tripod. I used a historic G275 off centre ballhead as the GH2750QR is being photographed (above...!) for a story in JPGMAG.

Settings: VR tuned off, D300 set to mirror lock-up. triggered with remote release. f36, each image 10 second exposure.

Lighting: halogen (desk) lamp close-up from bottom left, two-bulb low power halogen lamp distant from top right.

Quite a bit of digital manipulation but well worth the effort.
Really like the lighting too - desk lamps always work. One of the few still life I've ever done, I used an ordinary lamp and the lighting came out very decent.

Yep Maneesh, agree with you, steady lamps give a softer , more focussed light...and yes, a bit of digital work of superimposition there....thanks for the comments
