Laguna colorada
Es el sitio más importante para la observación de flamencos, donde se
concentran tres especies:El Flamenco Chileno, El Flamenco Andino y La
Parina Chica.Constituye un sitio de singular interés por la coloración
de sus aguas, de un rojo intenso debido a los finos sedimentos de esa
tonalidad depositados, y a pigmentos de algunos tipos de algas.

Laguna Colorada (Red Lagoon) is a shallow salt lake in the southwest of the altiplano of Bolivia, within Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve and close to the border with Chile.
The lake contains borax islands, whose white color contrasts nicely with the reddish color of its waters, which is caused by red sediments and pigmentation of some algae.
Laguna Colorada is one of the Ramsar Wetlands of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention signed in 1971.

It is definitely best viewed large as the flamingos shape is lost in smaller sizes. Extraordinary colors a surreal place!
