The Tree that Cortez Wept Under and Church in 1885

    Despite damage, the tree still has the same outline but is now surrounded by an iron fence. The mural showing the battle from the Aztec point of view is on the side of the church. Cortez's defeat came while trying to escape with looted treasures along the causeway that passed by here, now Calzada Mexico Tacuba.
