1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel - Plank, Eddie

"Similar in style to several other early caramel and candy cards, the set designated as E95 by the American Card Catalog, is a 25-card issue produced by the Philadelphia Caramel Co., Camden, NJ., in 1909. The cards measure approximately 1 1/2' x 2 5/8' and contains a full-color player drawing. The back, which differentiates the set from other similar issues, checklists the 25 players in black ink and displays the Philadelphia Caramel Co. name at the bottom. Blank-back cards printed on thinner stock exist; these are not proofs, but were cut off a 'Base Ball Series' notebook cover, they are valued about 25-50 percent of a corresponding regular-issue card."
