Moths of the Dzongu, Sikkim
These were taken in the Dzongu Protected Area of Sikkim in 2011 and 2012.

The Dzongu is the homeland of the Lepcha Tribe and one of the most biodiverse and beautiful places in the world.

The photos aren't from a systematic study, but the product of evenings drinking the local millet beer, thampa.

If you can identify any of them pleaselet me know - I can provide the original photo if that will help.

Many thanks to the residents of Hee-Gyathang village, Upper Dzongu for their great warmth and especially to .two of the very best people I have had the pleasure to meet: Tenzing Gyatso Lepcha, the Lepcha Messi and a true inspiration, and Dawa Lepcha, the man with a smile as big as the sun and the best insect guide in Sikkim.

Aachulay!
