Former Safeway store, "Academy"

Former Marina-style Safeway store, on Crenshaw Blvd in the city of Inglewood.

It takes its name from the nearby Academy Theater, which predates the Safeway store; I was struck by the expedient adaptation of the "SAFEWAY" signage, five of the letters reused and the "W" miraculously transformed into an "M".

ACADEMY?! You don't think much of me, do you boy? You know a SAFEWAY turns into a YAMSAFE so easily. You just got greedy.
