I just wrote on my FB post of this . . . I don't know what's wrong with me. I had this up, took it down, had it up, took it down. I am so bored with me! I feel like someone's gonna come along and say can you make anything without wings or pointy hats? No, apparently not. I am so stuck.

But, truly, thank you everybody for your encouragement - I really appreciate your kind words. I'm just down on myself for some reason . . . . bleh.

Jayne - that particular hat I used someone else's flowers to make, but I could come up with a batch of flower hats. I needed some ideas so that's a good one!

Fab-a-mundo! I love this, and I see it as an evolution of your work. Similar in some ways to previous work, yet different, too, with the vintage-y flowers and subtler colors. I admire the fact that you have a distinctive look. I am waiting for my own to develope or reveal itself. I feel like everything I come up with is an imitation of someone elses (like yours!) I have felt bored with myself, too, so I understand you feeling that way. I am guessing it is part of artistic process. But don't think that means the rest of us are bored with your work!

p.s. You know, if this ever left the virtual world to become physical , and appeared in your ETSY shop, it would go go perfectly in my cottage-y-whites- shabby-chic-ish bedroom! I'm just sayin....

I agree with The Mix - she said it quite well. And I would add that when one is feeling bad about themselves it is always said that you need to go out and do something for someone else. (I would try that novel first and might I recommend Carly Phillips). . ..

Flowered Hats.................now there's a best seller , hint hint..............I love it Marsha, but then I love you too!!!

Wow, you all are so nice! You really made me feel better. I don't really feel better about my work, but you made me feel better inside my head. Glad to hear this may just be part of the process and not a permanent loss of mojo! There are days that I think I may just make collage sheets and not worry about art and I'm good with that. And then I look at art and I want to make some and I can't make what I want and so it goes . . . . Anyway, you all are the best!

Mixiepixie - you sweetie. Yep, it'll go in the shop eventually I'm sure.

Fiona - look for something later this week! ; )

Zib - have to find me some Carly Phillips I guess! tee hee And believe me, with my kids around, I am always doing something for someone else. But that probably doesn't count. I'll have to ponder what to do, what to do.

      Yes, yes!! Flowered hats!!

    17. druga_szesnascie (14 months ago | reply)

hats and wings - yes, if they're authentic. in your case - double yes!
so who cares what people say. ;)
anyway, I love it. perhaps because I'm trying to believe the unbelievable right now in my life.

I DO "believe" . . . . . AND . . . . add me to the "Flowered Hats & Crowns" Club, Marsha!!! And I would be sad if you decided to throw in a couple of new sets of wings too!!! Don't fix it if it ain't broke!!!! Luv Ya!!! xoxoxo

I think that it is the "Age of Discontentment" feeling that helps us to keep evolving in discovering and trying new things and ideas. That's what makes creative people 'creative' - and sets us apart -we hate ennui, boredom & the same old same old. We may have times when we're frustrated in trying to get our motivation back, but I think it's just we are needing and looking for something that's gets us inspired, excited and re-energized enough to get those creative juices churning again. Don't be too hard on yourself Marsha, sometimes it's good to take a step back from what you're used to doing, re-examine what makes you happy and feel good and then get back into it when the motivation comes easily & naturally. You have so much creativeness inside of you that you haven't lost it, it's just taking a break, recharging itself. But you can bet I'm gonna hit your store when you make some new collage sheets lol!

You all are just the BEST! I am so touched by all of your kind comments. I find them reassuring and they make this lull of mine seem not so bad. Thank you everybody!

All of your pieces are so stunning and original. I always look forward to a new post from you.

WOW WOW WOW! This is gorgeous! My dear you ARE evolving...I see alot of differences but some of the same too...And those same things...are you...those hats and wings are totally you! You always put your art thinking hat on and fly with those wings of yours! Things and you are changing but you are taking the happy important things with you on your journey. I think we all need a little of that same ol same ol...we wouldnt know what to do without it. It is like a staple a consistancy...you don't have to give up your hat and wings to do and become something more. :O) hope that all made sense! Love ya sweets!

Marsha..I've seen lots of your work that didn't have pointy hats OR wings. She's beautiful...and I think your style is changing since I've been following you...you're refining it. Maybe you're too close and can't see it. Love your work!

    29. chrisg62 (14 months ago | reply)

Marsha - what can I say that hasn't already been said?
She is stunning - You are an inspiration and I'm all for flowery, pointy hats!
I love your collage sheets, but i ADORE the work that you create. Like one lady said above - don't try and fix what isn't broken. Just keep on doing what YOU do best.

OMG what would the world be without pointy hats and wings. I for one love them both. Your art work is really wonderful and very inspiring. I feel bored with myself sometimes too. I think that is just the way it is. We all love your work so much.
p.s. I vote for the flowery pointy hats too.
