Calving Iceberg at Aialik Glacier

Kenai Fjords National Park, AK

When I was cruising the Kenai Fjords in Alaska, I came close to experience a huge iceberg calving off of the Aialik Glacier. Although I was able to capture the decisive moment when the iceberg began to came off, I knew I would not be able to exactly reproduce the sense of great scale and power. I'm told that the recent climate change has introduced instability to the glacier system and speed up the calving rate.
