      I like how even the shadows are ragged at the edges in this photograph -- it perfectly complements the desolate, abandoned feel of the space.

      Strangely, someone took the time to patch up the more egregious structural hazards of the space at some point (even painting over graffiti) even though it's clearly still too unsafe to inhabit.

      What was this room?

      I believe this used to be part of a fort or something like that, on the north side of Golden Gate Bridge. There are a lot of old buildings there.

      I'm surprised people seem to like this shot more than the similar doorway one I also took (of the same room, the door being just to the left of the edge of the field of view here I think). I guess the emptiness is cool here but I think the other composition with the door frame is more interesting.
