Long Branch Community Garden |
Garden operates from May through
November. Locations on Seventh Avenue
and Sairs Avenue in Long Branch New
Jersey.
Funded and founded by the Office of Community and Economic Development since 1996.
Garden operates for the benefit of the local community. All vegetables are donated to food pantries, soup kitchens, senior center and neighbors.
The Long Branch Concordance Family Services Center has joined and facilitated the establishment of individual plots for families in the neighborhood.
The garden follows permaculture principals whenever possible. Planting natives, beneficial insect strips as well as using mulch and building soil structure to work for long term health of the ecosystem.
