Giraffes Two by Two

    First, I dyed the fabric yellow using dye from the inner bark of a black oak tree. Then I waxed the Giraffes. leaving where I wanted the spots uncovered. Next, I dyed it with madder and everything turned a nice orange. I was going to make the background brown, but I tested it and it didn't look as good as the orange. Therefore, I painted on the brown accents with a concentrated black walnut dye.
