Jambiani, Zanzibar, Tanzania.

I spent three weeks in Tanzania recently with my fiancee and two friends. We had a great time and met a lot of different creatures both human and not so human. There will be plenty of uploads in the coming weeks from this trip.

Walking around in the sleepy village of Jambiani on the east coast of Zanzibar i stumbled upon a small football field and I had no choice but to join in. Theese three young boys did not understand a word of english but football is truly a universal language. When the game was over I took this team picture of them. The youngest one in the middle had a hard time standing still and not making funny faces which annoyed his older friend to the left.

Sunset is a quick affair this close to the equator. The sky seems to find it difficult to keep up and stays colorful longer then up north or down south.

Stone Town also known as Mji Mkongwe (swahili for "old town") is the old part of Zanzibar City, the main city of Zanzibar, in Tanzania. A melting pot for all kinds of religions and people of different ethnic background it's beauty is in both the details and the big picture.

Dar es Salaam, "harbour of peace", formerly Mzizima, is the largest city in Tanzania. Roughly 3 million people (no one knows for sure) inhabit this beautiful city on the coast of the Indian ocean.
