Hi Mike, Promise not to laugh, I'm going to guess the
plant name. Is this Yucca? I've never seen an
offset grows in every part of the mother
plant. By the way, your garden looks healthy
Mike. Regards, Seta
No laughing ok. This is Cordyline Australis,
the common green species if you loook further
down the garden towards the house you can see
the same species but the red variety. The
green one was about 5mt tall the red one
about 3 mtr tall. Give you some perspecttive
for size. Both are very hard in our climate.
The green one used to produce 1000, of seeds
which when dried are quite viable and they
grow like grass. The top section got damaged
so I just sawed it off. That is what started
all these new growing shoots up the main
trunk. If you cut these off in June / July
and pot them up they will all root for you
then you can plant them in other locations.
What I have done is left them attached so in
time it will become one big bush. I love these plants as they give the garden a
real tropical look and feel to it. The green
one is about 14 - 16 years old and about .5
of a mtr when I got it. It cost £5 at the
time. Regards Mike.
Master, Be concerned, because this behavior can be
showing problems in the top growth gem.
Maybe, your squerrel is making his home in
the top of his world. Beautiful plant. Congratulations. Best regards, Neves.
Hi Brother, great to hear from you. The
squirrels do like this plant because from on
top they can look over the whole garden to
make sure it iot safe to come down to earth.
Als my cat likes to sit in the top and watch
the birds. I lost my other one it was sad but
am very happy that this one is going crazy
with all the new growths. It is going to be
big,
