Swan Lake Boardwalk
The family took a day trip to take in some fall colors before it gets too cold. Swan Lake is about an hour and a half south of the Twin Cities. It rests slightly north of the Minnesota River, between St. Peter and New Ulm.
This boardwalk into the marsh offers some of the best birding I have yet to come across. Without notice, huge flocks of birds rise out of the marsh grasses and blanket the sky. Quite an experience!
