Feed Me!

Feed Me!

We are putting in our yard and I noticed there were couple of birds hanging around the yard but couldn't figure out why as I have been lazy about getting bird seed this year. I found out the reason, there is a nest in my yard. Now we are goind to put off putting the soil down in that section until the birds are ready to leave. I have to stop myself from going over too many times as I know the mother bird is watching but I couldn't resist getting some shots. Everytime my shutter snapped the birds were opening there mouthes.

Tapestry Room

Tapestry Room

Designed for the Canadian Bank of Commerce by national architects Darling and Pearson, this magnificent structure has been preserved and renamed the Millennium Centre. The building features a monumental granite and marble banking hall capped with a stained-glass dome 15 metres above.

Also participating is the Costume Museum of Canada. The Museum will be presenting “Wedding Gowns: From Victorian Times to the Millennium” Wedding shows have always been a highlight with audiences and we hope that you will be delighted to see even more of these beautiful gowns from our extensive collection. Come out to see this double feature – one of Winnipeg’s early banks and several young ladies dream gowns.

Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Sts. Vladimir & Olga

Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Sts. Vladimir & Olga

The Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Sts. Vladimir & Olga is a work of art that should not be missed. The cathedral, built in 1950, which has a seating capacity of more than a thousand, contains some of the finest Icon paintings and stained glass windows in Canada. The Icons were written by Sviatoslaw Hordynsky from New York and, the Great Iconostasis, which separates the sanctuary from the nave, is the work of Serhij Lytwynenko, also from New York. The Cathedral is most famous for its 34 large stained glass windows, 16 of which were done by the late world famous artist and sculpture Leo Mol, who is also known for his Leo Mol Garden at Winnipeg Assiniboine Park. The Cathedral is also noted for its beautiful rose stained glass window behind the altar, depicting the patrons of the cathedral, Sts. Vladimir and Olga. Come and visit this jewel of Winnipeg. Guided tours every hour on the hour.
