The ambiance of wrenching (improved)

    Being busy with my Beetle.

Strobist: 3/4 with softbox camera left.

Replaced the TL-light with an old school lamp, and removed the ugly bag on the left. Original pic is here.

I would like to know how to improve this picture, so tell me !

Dankje. Ja inderdaad, ik wou geen lelijke plastic tas meer, maar dan krijg je zo'n grijs vlak. Dat heb ik dus geprobeerd op te vrolijken met een ouwerwetse hooivork :-).

Both are nice shots but I like this better. The old school light fits the beetle.

A little vignetting and some burning of the left hand side of the frame would probably do the trick.

Being a gearhead, I'd like to see a snooted light on the engine bay, maybe. Nice shot, though.

Cool, I have that too. No sempahores.

Quite rare isn't it ? Very cool though.

Love this. I spent my college years in exactly this spot. Only it was a 66. Only thing that could improve it? Make it a Type 2!!

      ;-)

Failing that, maybe just add more props/tools arranged around the engine bay on the floor. Spanners, sockets, air hose etc IE more detail. Then dodge and burn as suggested above.

@ NZpablo: thanks for your tips man ! Wouldn't make the picture too busy, but the art is to be subtle. Will surely think about it next time I make a picture.
