New Wheelie Bin plus caddy

    Our new black wheelie bin and food waste caddy arrived this morning. The penalty for misuse is death.

      Just "how" did us mere mortals manage, say, 25 years ago with a single metal dustbin (which the dustman used to dare to carry onto his shoulder)....is it a case of we didn't throw half as much away due to lack of packaging? We used newspapers etc as firelighters so no waste paper and fruit, veg & other food wasn't hermetically sealed in case we died from a single bacteria on something involving about 3 layers of polystyrene,plastic and paper inserts for everything reminding us that a bag of nuts may contain nuts! arghhhhhhhhhhhh (I might have just exploded).

      Yup. One metal dustbin. I remember those days. Of course we used to burn a lot of stuff back then. There was not as much plastic then. Fruit and veg were never wrapped in anything. A lot of stuff came in returnable glass bottles as well.
