artis-bakfietsen-workcycles 11
We delivered 11 more bakfietsen to Artis Zoo in Amsterdam today, bringing the total to 15 units. Ten are for selling various drinks and food (soup, panini, espresso, ice-cream...), three are for stocking the vending bikes and general errands, and two are for the bird caretakers.

Hmmm-- add a little bit of fireproofing, some coals, and a spit and you've got a mobile bbq!

halibut5000,
...in a zoo?

you see a problem with a mobile bbq in a zoo? I'm SURE those aren't all Vegan meals their currently serving out of those carts! ha! :)

Nor are many of the animals on vegan diets.

If zoo visitors are feeling extra sensitive, I'm sure it's possible to mold a wild boar from tofu and roast that instead. Otherwise, there's always soylent green.

There are a couple vegetarian, maybe even vegan, Chinese restaurants in the San Jose area that do just that. They're very strange places; all of the dishes are referred to as "prawns", "beef", "spare-ribs" etc just like in a typical Chinese restaurant but it's all fashioned from carefully textured and molded veggie ingredients. The fish flakes like fish, the beef is appropriately chewy... Surreal.
