Bulbophyllum smitinandii

Bulb.Lobbii as far as colour and markings are concerned can be a variable species but the shape is usually fairly consistant. Although I acquired this plant as a Lobbii, the shape doesn't seem quite right to me. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks to the help from other Bulbophyllum growers the plant has now been identified as
    Bulb. smitinandii.

It looks more like Bulbophyllum uniflorum! How large are the flowers & what do the leaves look like? I have a picture of my B. uniflorum on my flickr page, take a look. Yours is quite beautiful!!!!!! Do you live in hte US? I would love to trade a piece of mine for a piece of yours. Jeff

Many thanks Jeff and PiotrM for your help. The award however goes to PiotrM. You are right it is smitinandii (no h) I looked on Jays orchid species encyclopedia at both and also on your Flickr site Jeff but my plant is identical to the one on Jays. I'm glad about that, I already have two Lobbiis. and thanks for the offer of a swap Jeff but I do live on the other side of the great pond down in what we call the South West of England and the current regulations if you want to post plants are a nightmare, such a pity. Hello Lio, I originally ordered a 'Lobbii' from the nursery only to find when it flowered it was a Smitinandii. I was very pleased a mistake had been made as I already had a Lobbii and this one is quite rare and as you say very pretty. It was only discovered in 1996 and is native to Thailand and Vietnam. It is a vigorous and easy grower and sends up flowers not from the side of the bulb but from the connecting rhizome. The flowers in the picture were produced in mid April and are still being produced, so a long flowering season.
