This shot is a great example of how HDR can bring out the drama in a scene. VERY nice photo!

Great Impact. Good rule of thirds - breaker!!!

This shot is fabulous. This would have worked as a non-HDR, B&W, sepia, etc. When i look at the image I feel like I am in a boat moving alongside the jetty. The image detail is incredible; it feels like I could get a splinter from the image on my monitor. Well done!

Very well seen and composed; the sky and.... perspective of the dock

Absolutely beautiful shot. The highlighting just under the jetty really lifts this shot for me

Thanks again to all who took the time to comment.

Here's some technical info for anyone who's interested – Shot with Canon 40D, 10-22mm ef-s wide angle lens. 3 long exposures, +/- 2 stops, merged to HDR then tone-mapped in photomatix with deliberate attempt to minimise any halo-effect.

The day was clearly overcast, but this is exaggerated even more with tone-mapping.

Fantastic shot Huey_J, I love the way it just appears to go on forever.
And also shot in my neighborhood as well, I'm from the Central Coast as well.

Is this photo taken along Lakedge around Berkeley Vale??

      jezkerwin,

The location is 'Long Jetty', there's a few jetties there but this shot is of the actual Jetty the place is named after.

      Huey_J,

That's the one just right at the end of Archibold rd isn't it?

I know it very well, just near Tuggerah Lakes memorial club.
Congrats on winning the TWIP contest as well.

      Thanks jezkerwin,

I'm not too familiar with road names around there, but I think you're right it is near the Memorial Club. Not too hard to find anyway if you're drive along the lake edge.

      wow!
i've been wondering whether to try out HDR or not; i don't like some of the pics out there that have an unreal feel to them.
yours though, is a great example of how subtle use of HDR can really enhance a shot.

Simply fantastic! I'm catching up on the old TWIPs and heard you won the HDR contest. I should say so! Fantastic image. Can't wait to see more.

This is stunning. (Plus I usually don't like HDR - this is a wonderful exception.)
