RAY'S DEN MOTEL

Our motel in Independence, CA. Very small, only eight rooms, no amenities except it's sparkling clean, Linda, the owner is super nice and it's centrally located between Lone Pine & Bishop. Alabama Hills, Onion Valley, Mt. Whitney, etc are all very close.

Motels are such foreign things to us here in the UK - we don't really have them! Not far to get in the car is it?!

Apparently, that is indeed their reputation. So nice to see a small establishment like this so nicely run. Hats off to Linda!

No, you park right in front of the door.

I checked it out before the first time we stayed there on tripadvisor.com All good remarks, she only has one recent bad one.

It's very comfy and homey. Sometimes the guests sit outside in the evening with their wine/beer and chat Very friendly.

I also forgot about the fridge and microwave. Those towels are wonderful.

I've never met anyone before who was named after a motel stuck out in the middle of nowhere.

Now I'm left wondering what you mean by no amenities!
