Take A Flight...
A wine flight...my kind of flight. Your feet stay on the ground, but if you do enough of them, your head will be in the clouds.
haven't toured a winery (in the states) since I was a kid, and when family from back east would come visit, they all wanted to go to Napa Valley. We always did the tour at Christian Brothers and I remember it clearly. Sadly, Christian Brothers is no longer there and their very impressive complex is now the home of the CIA...Culinary Institute of America...what a shame. Maybe next time we go to Napa, I will get a shot of the main building...It is something to see
The only winery that we actually toured and one of the most impressive tours that I have ever been on. I am not even sure if many or any of the other wineries still have tours, but if you toured and tasted at every winery...you might get to do 2 in a day. This one took us about to hours to complete..with about 4 stops to taste different varietals.
Last stop of our tour of Sterling Winery. All 3 that we tasted were excellent, but as these are the best of their best, we only bought a bottle of one of them. (Although we did buy a case of Merlot that they had a hell of a deal on, most tasty, it leaves a smoky taste on the tongue) The 2005 Reserve Merlot. It did not last long either. we cracked that baby open a short time later for our picnic..lol
