Wiener Dog

When we saw this pattern in "Dare to be Square" we knew we had to make it for Katebits. It's her own quilted wiener dog pit! It took us one day to piece the top on the machine, so it was super-fun to do a quilt-in-a-day adventure, and our long-arm quilter did it up with an adorable dog bone motif. We backed it with our favorite Alexander Henry bird print (seen sort of here). Today we drove up to Buffalo for a weekend of seething hockey rivalry (GO ORANGE!), and got to deliver the wiener dog in person. There may be more wiener dogs in the future.

My friend mentioned this book on the phone to me today, so I've been Googling images to check out the book - I put it on my Amazon wishlist when I saw your quilt - it's adorable!!! I'm sure the recipient loved it!

(I had to laugh at your comment that you drove "up" to Buffalo - we drive "down" to Buffalo for Joanns road trips - we just did it last weekend, lol!)

This quilt is so fun, isn't it? I'm sure you'll enjoy making it! (How funny about Buffalo! I guess the truly wise quilters eventually find their way there somehow, no matter which direction they're coming from. :D)
