So I haven't uploaded in a while...midnight rolled around today and I suddenly got the urge to edit a photo. I took this 8-image panorama back in October; it's from the same hike as the tree shot actually. Last week I decided to stitch it all up and spent a good 2 hours in Panorama Factory. Today I picked it back up, did some light color touch-ups, b+w tinting, and voila. Let me know what you think.

BTW it's all in the details so be sure to check out the large version.

All the Way Down

The part I hate most about shooting shrubbery is trying to get the right tint of green. We've all seen those perfect forest shots, but you can't imagine how hard they are to recreate. A circular polarizer is a must, as it takes away all the harsh sunlight from the leaf surfaces. The rest of the work lies in Photoshop.
After about an hour I finally felt satisfied with the tint; at 100%, this image looked fantastic. But as soon as I rescaled it to 1200 px, everything seemed to collide. And with the upload to Flickr the quality dropped exponentially. I already use maximum quality presettings whenever I save, and I aslo use "save for web & devices" when uploading to Flickr. So any suggestions?

I got out of school early one day and just felt like taking some pictures. I finally got the chance to shoot from the top of the Left Seat Restaurant. They don't generally keep the roof seating open, due to security as well as a good few years of bird droppings. But after a quick call to airport ops they opened it up and...well...here you go. Let me know what you think. Every time I look at an image I always see the color in a different way.

And in case you didn't notice already...BEACON SHOT!
