I kind of preferred how the shells and bones
were colored and arranged on the older
version. Now, with that said, I'd like to
mention that if the 2M "friction
joint" of the Super Heroes sets gets
added to LDD, you could use that and get the
color placement of the black almost 100%
accurate to the original Toa Mata sets.
Also, I wonder if you could reverse the lower
leg shells so that the points are facing
down. I think that would echo the wide shins
of the original Toa Mata leg pieces, plus it
would give these Toa the same sturdy
boot-clad look that some of this year's Hero
Factory sets like Breez, Furno, and Surge
have. Your choice, of course.
Strangely this one reminds me more of Tahu
Nuva - not sure why! Maybe it's the pose...
Anyway, the black shells are an interesting
touch. Not sure if they're 100% successful,
but you're definitely on to something. I'd
follow Brickthing's advice and see what the
result looks like. :D

Hmmm... not so keen.

The black shells look a bit out of place - I think a simple black torso bone would represent the black shoulder/waist sockets much better.
Also, the Toa leg pieces flare at the ankles, so the orange armour on Tahu's legs might serve better rotated 180.
This is a fantastic project though; I love the nostalgia of it!
