Still part of that random project of trying to capture the look and feel of Bionicle 2001 with a Hero Factory 2011/2012 approach while still staying within realistic set confines.

Oh yes, I had fun with gradients... A lot of fun...

I do like how you've done the big hand. These are ace!

Why are all his limbs red? Shouldn't they be orange?

They are - under the armour.

But the armour covers them up. =P

i.e. It isn't really supposed to be a BIONICLE.

I know that, I just think making the limbs orange (even at the expense of taking off the armour) would make a more authentic-looking Tahu. It'd still have the HF style; after all there are even some HF sets with 'bare' limbs.

Don't think I'm hating on the concept here - I think it's awesome. I'm just offering some constructive criticism. =)

I prefer the red armour on, but each to his own :)

Excellent pose! I have difficulty making creative poses with figures I build on LDD, but perhaps I just haven't had enough patience.

The black Hero Core is a great way of modernizing the chest-sphere from the original Toa Mata!

    Perhaps you're on to something...

I didn't want the limbs completely orange with armor, nor did I want to ditch the armor completely. I always liked that touch of black on the limbs, I thought it gave the Mata a more unified look, while still having their distinct color schemes. At first I thought the best place for it was the upper bones for the limbs, but now I'm starting to like this approach. It cuts down on the armor a bit while adding more orange and retaining the bit of black at the same time. Hence, a slightly better approximation of Tahu's original colors.

Thanks. Posing is quite tedious in LDD, just gotta fiddle around with it a ton. Perhaps it helps that the poses I was trying to emulate were so well done, and filled with character in the first place.
