I found some lace from my mothers stash, cut
a piece about 5 cm long and ran a gathering
thread down the centre, then pulled it up.
The pearl beads and mother of pearl buttons
also came from mum's stash.
Beautiful! Isn't it amazing what can be done
with stitches in threads almost the same
color. The hint of darker cloud or smoke in
the sky is very effective.

This is turning out great! I love the left and the right bottom part - and the real - well done! How did you make those lovely flowers on the right?

quite effective. Like everyone else, I am very much struck by the contrasts you achieved.

Lovely Celia - All the more special as it's a piece about your roots and you've used things from your mum's stash.
