i have been to urban craft center and there is parking, plus street parking. no problem, especially on a sunday. I am hoping to make it, i will know for sure early this week. If you ever want to host at my house, i have a teeny house, but huge backyard with a slew of folding tables. (in Monrovia, close to the aztec where we held some meets before)

I like the idea of having some level of privacy. So someone's house would really be ideal. If we cannot get a good response by the end of the week, then mebbe we can try either of these 4 options:
1) Community room in a park
2) Someone's house
3) The Grove
4) Trails Park cafe

trails is always a super spot for a meet. quiet, tables for dolly display and i love their food. Plus, it's super close to some of our group. I am also a big fan of the UCC, so whatever you choose is fine for me.

I'm not getting much of a response. This meet might not happen. I think unless we get a large enough crowd, there may not be a need to rent a place. Cos if it's under 15 people, we can just meet at a restaurant or the trails.

I love the Trails Cafe spot in Griffith Park. No worrying about how to do the bill; big tables and if the weather's nice; a lovely day outside spent with friends..:)

The trails sounds that it'll be a good meeting place, especially with the whole not worrying about the bill part, lol. I never been though, but excited to go if the meet ends up being there.

We could always stick with good old J-Town but it isn't the best when it comes to finding a place where we can relax. If we can't get a headcount in time for the UCC I like Trails. I love that you can just go up to the window to get food yourself. We could always postpone it for October when it won't be so hot...not that the heat bothers me too much. Weren't there benches with shade cover at Trails?
Of course there's always the good old Aztec. I really enjoyed it when we were outside there.

I swear it won't be that hot around Halloween..but for the Aztec it will depend on if we can be outside. That'd be much better than being stuck inside the room that had no air conditioning..:)

just want to clarify about the Aztec. Our first meet there we arranged with the manager to have part of the patio reserved for our meet. It was a fab location. The second time we were meeting there, there was some kind of miscommunication and we did not have a space reserved, there was a huge birthday party on the patio and we were forced inside to the non-airconditioned portion of the lobby. so.... for our next halloween meet in october, we will pick a date that we can assure we have the patio area reserved.
it is my understanding that the sept 25 meet will be a small casual gathering to make plans for the big meet in October.

I am always up for the trails cafe and there's always Griffith Park too. It's fine as long as there
is shade and a breeze.
There is still that rec room/log cabin but it may be booked it has to booked one month in
advance and put in a deposit as well.
I love the Aztec, it's always fun there.
