Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express with LMS Black Fives 45305 + 44932 at
Shap Summit.The sun came out just at the right moment when the two 5's
came into view and what a noise they made....fabulous.
Just a shame about the return and the blizzard that arrived twenty
minutes before the two 5's came into view.Prior to that the light at
Birkett Common was superb maybe one day I will get that shot in sun.

Ah, you made it up there. And obviously used the opportunity well. Another fabulous shot in perfect light. But I hope you still grabbed a blizzard shot on Birkett Common.

A great result, Simon...Sun and Shap are somewhat of a contradiction, but you made the most of that unlikely combination here. ( My blizzard shot at Smardale was a write-off......)

The wind was very strong when we arrived so we decided to go for the safety of the cutting here.I just wish I had a time machine to go back to the 1950's & 1960's this must have been a awesome place to watch steam at work.Thank you for all your kind comments they are very much appreciated,Simon.
