Bit close to the track there! A great shot, must have been noisy when it went past.

That's a superb and unusual shot - great composition.

I was stood well away from the line zooming in to get this shot so no concerns there.Although a lineside pass is required to stand in this position.

I took some video of the above shot with my old 8mm camera sadly since gone to the camcorder grave yard.Watching it back I liked how the exhaust wrapped itself around the inner walls and thought it would be good to capture a stills shot.So three years later I thought about giving it ago, thanks for the feedback glad you like it.

Excellent timing Simon. For reasons best know to themselves the Bluebell do not have events such as this

Phenomenal, Simon, and isn't Mytholmes tunnel so instantly recognisable? Maybe it's because few other lines have tunenls? Anyway, a truly marevellous picture in a different mould (hooray)!

Speaking of icicles, Charwelton tunnel was so bad that a loco could have to be sent through on a morning to knock them down before expresses smashed into them!

Simon and martyn, what is the P&ARP book?

Kingscote tunnel on the Bluebell is renowned for its icicles.

Yes you wouldn't want to be doing the paper chase through there yesterday. There was a few icicles on the ground inside the tunnel mouth that had fallen down.Talking of icicles have you seen this shot by LG_99 (Pete) taken on the footplate of Black 5, 45305 about to enter Shotlock Hill tunnel on the S&C Railway.

I just wished more preservation lines had a tunnel always good shots to be had entering and exiting the tunnel. Thanks for all the recent comments much appreciated Simon.
Pondhopper1...the P&ARP group stands for Progressive & Artistic Railway Photography and some of the best different approach shots can be seen by the members of the group.

Greet tunnel on the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway at 693 yards long, Sharpthorne tunnel on the Bluebell & Bewdeley tunnel on the SVR all spring readily to mind. Doubtless there are others too.

Superb! Just enough light on cabside, footplating and smokebox rivets to give the essential form. Ian

      Simply stunning!

Superb framing, a great sense of drama with that steam, and I just love the s-curve on the tracks. Really great work!
