Abuja 2005 006
This is the view on the other side of the Usuma dam. We were walking along the top of some sort of dike that had been built up. The back was a sloping grass hillside that grew into what you see there. There's part of the water treatment facility on the left, and there was a man herding cattle through the land there. You can see a tiny settlement to the right that is the village of Bwari (see other pictures). Although this is land set aside for the dam, there are little villages - we passed a group of women sharpening axes on the edge of the paved roadway as we were leaving.
