Then I read an article questioning the ins and outs of why even try to recreate your real self in SL? Do I really want/need to look like the wrinkled, tired, never-wears-makeup-unless-threatened-with-a-gun woman I am in RL?
Mostly I want to look older in SL just to challenge peoples mindsets and point out things such as liking me as a 'girl' but not as a 'boy' (I tried that one out) misses the point of what virtual realities are about.

Interesting points are made on both side of that argument, I think. I believe that everyone should simply wear the avatar that "feels" right to them.

me too Neb -- it's taken over 2 years for me to feel comfortable/confident in a human skin :P
