Morning coffee and paper w/24-120mm f/4 VR
I have been shooting this wonderful new zoom lens for a couple of weeks in preparation for its launch and can now tell you how much I like this lens. Great balance, superb image quality and with its constant f/4 aperture a joy to use at all focal lengths in bright or low light. The viewfinder experience at f/4 is no slouch either. Enjoy these first posts.

Could you perhaps modify your Flickr account to enable us to view your exif data? Your samples look great but it's hard to tell without also being able to see exactly what focal length and aperture each shot was taken at.

Ben,
i'll add the info from now on - I can't show the metadata because I use pre-production gear and don't want the public to know that information and I only release photos after the products have been introduced.
If you are not sure who I am check my profile, I'll be happy to answer your questions through e-mail

nice! Could you upload more samples? Some portraits would be great to see the bokeh in action.
Just one question, what is that double edge in the newspaper corner and in the bench?
thanks!

I have noticed that too, very strange. Only happened in out-of-focus area. Effect from VR?

Maybe an artifact ('halo effect') from tweaking 'color' levels whilst doing the B&W conversion.

Thanks for your comments.
I' have looked closely at the edge and see what you are referring to. Not sure myself. Since this was a pre-production lens - it is possible that the VR in the lens was not final or it might have been the breeze blowing the newspaper around slightly. Once I get a production lens (for all of these new lenses) I will shoot (inevitable) more images and post them. Other than that, I love this new lens - and that double edge has not appeared in any of my other shots.
