I rode on the Leonards' (later Tandy Center) Subway a couple of times -- it didn't cover a great geographic distance, but it sure was unique for Texas!

My brother remembers the subway station in the department store basement had corny dog, donut and popcorn concessions. I remember the store itself had a mini theater that showed cartoons so parents could dump the kids while shopping. The store was replaced by Tandy Center long ago, and now the subway is gone too. Real estate was too valuable to waste on free parking and a subway that went about 2 blocks underground.

Being from Lancaster and Mesquite, I only got to ride it once, probably not long before it disappeared. But I'm glad I got that one ride.
