I'd like to think that whoever pasted up these adverts over Sepr's graffiti was trying to make some sort of ironic statement...but I think we both know they weren't.

Umm maybe they were just putting up posters?
Eons ago I was a gofer and roadie (yes I know....its been said) and just after the St Pauls Riots (1980) I was pasting the last few of many posters of some gig at the end of my road, saved them for last just near home - I felt eyes on the back of my neck, and there was a full riot wagon - what could I say? In those days they considered flyposting as a chargeable offence, so I played kinda dumb, and said that I would take it down (really quick, didnt want them to know who wanted the posters up!) and sorry, I didnt know I wasn't supposed to do this! After all, it was on a boarded-up door on a burned building......

Cheer up, Unity! Its only posters - they are only glued!
Tomorrow they'll be gone..... not everyone in the Croft area appreciates Banksy!

PS I lived in Sussex Place at the time, and the 'causes' of the riots (there was more than one riot) are still debatable.....

Burned, Unity!
It was a couple of weeks later, the fire had been put out ages before! ;-))
