The historic town of Wismar has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 2002.

Inspired by my Japanese friends I became a real friend and admirer of the prominent Japanese film director Hayao Miyazaki. He founded the company Studio Ghibli and created a number of exceptional and everlasting anime films, characterized by breathtaking pictures and moving stories. Beginning in 2005 fortunately all his films are published in perfect quality and synchronisation in Germany. The photo shows my collection in order of the year of release:

Mostly I ordered the Special Edition with 2 DVDs. All movies are great and worth watching, some are suitable for children (SFC), some are clearly for adults (SFA), two movies I didn't seen yet (NSY). I'm happy to own this wonderful collection!

In 1962 a wreck of a cog dated to 1380 was found in Bremen, today displayed at the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven. "Ubena von Bremen" from 1990 is a nearly identical replica of this old cog.

Also the 1919 sailing ship "Fridtjof Nansen" visited Wismar in summer 2011.

A steam engine room is a fascinating place of work! With enthusiasm the boilerman explained me his steam engine, then he had to heat up for the next tour.
