    Shakira stands for a portrait on the eve of the inauguration of the fifth school Shakira's foundation, Fundacion Pies Descalzos, has built, in Barranquilla, Atl?ntico, Colombia on Feb. 3, 2009. Shakira, also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, founded Fundacion Pies Descalzos in 1995, using her success to garner proceeds and advocate for child education in both her homeland of Colombia and globally. The Barefoot Foundation, as it's known in the U.S., currently supports six schools which service some 30,000 children and their families who have been affected by poverty and displacement.
