To the Peacekeepers: Past and Present
This is dedicated to the unsung military heroes, the peacekeepers. From Somalia 1993, where soldiers fought to feed the hungry, to Rwanda 1994, where a tiny force of soldiers volunteered to stay and protect the innocent, to today 2008, in Darfur. These soldiers come from all walks of life and from all corners of the earth, to protect human rights and ensure justice. Though their missions have often failed, that has often been more the work of bickering politicans than the soldiers on the ground.
This is in honor of all who have served in peacekeeping missions, particularly those who never came back.
