The biggest problem with tatoo is that when
you did a mistake is for life. In that case
we say : "Cuisiner ou mourir" (like Hydrate
or die from camelback) or "Cuisine ou meurt" But for sure "Cuisiner ou meurt"
means nothing for a french guy like me.
cook or die is actually a very common chef
phrase these days. I am entirely certain he
meant it to say cuisiner ou meurt. I think
it is a derivative of Anthony Bourdain's
Cook free or die (or to a lesser extent vote
or die from a few years back) It speaks to cooking being a way of life for
this person and w/o it they would have no
other choice but to die. It is literally
more important than air to them. I
appreciate this as a student of the culinary
arts. BRAVO!

I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything here... but shouldn't it be "Cuisiner ou mourir"? Or maybe "Cuisine ou meurt"
I'm French but I'm no chef, so maybe it's my error.

its a mistake......a french woman i know told me it literally means "to cook or to die"
