the chair fits perfectly your desk

      Where's the desk from?

    5. Kiem_Tang (57 months ago | reply)

      Jon.
According to the stamp on the inside of one of the draws, the desk is by Abbess. The model is 'Linear'.

I got this from a repro house that were throwing a few out. When I got it, the desk was light brown and in a used state. I locked myself in the garage for a whole week where I striped it back to bare wood and applied a walnut stain. The legs have been re-enameled and handles polished. I've also shorted the width by 200mm.

I love this desk, it's solid and made to last. A real labour of love.

      Arther.
I think so too. It fits into the gap so well. Lucky for me because I didn't measure it before I ordered the chair! Could of been a very expensive mistake.

Great job on the desk... it looks beautiful. Could you tell us what model the chair is and how you like it.

      Wow great setup!

      kirkk:
The chair is a Charles & Ray Eames Soft Pad, model EA217. It's made under license in Europe by Vitra www.twentytwentyone.com/displayProduct.asp?Pr oductID=369&...

I've been wanting it for ages so took the plunge and got it. The pads make it much more comfortable than the non padded version, but maybe not as ergonomic as an Aeron. I think the classic design of the Eames is way better.

Mine is finished in Black Nappa leather, Chrome and has the wheels for wooden floors. Quite important unless you want it to slide all over the place.

According to the link you provided, that chair is over $2000 POUNDS! That's the price of 3 Herman Miller Aeron.

      I'm speechless.

How is it sitting in one all day? I really love these!

    13. Kiem_Tang (55 months ago | reply)

      @ Stebbi:
I spend a lot of time in this chair and I'm very happy. At work I have a modern mesh style chair (not Aeron) where you can alter most of the parts which I think is more comfortable.

Ultimately, I got this because I really like it, it looks good, will stand the test of time and should hold some value.

At the end of the day I followed my heart.

BTW. I'm so envious of your furniture and home. So inspirational. Nice work.
