Day 140: Summertime Nostalgia
Daily Gratitude..... to have played hopscotch, red rover, red light green light, kick the bucket, hide and seek, lava monster, jacks, pick up sticks, jump rope, hula hoop, lemonhead..... until there wasn't an ounce of light left.... until only the stars and moon could be seen..... until the crickets chirped, and the still of night blanketed us in comfort..... those were the days!!!! On a warm summer night.... i can still smell it..... still feel it..... like it is calling me home!!!! Come back Bunny...... relive just one more night..... don't worry all your childhood friends will be there..... Amy, Jenny, Kamie, Tina, Veronica, Theresa, Manuel, Jennifer, Steven..... man we were fortunate to have a bunch of kids on our street...... i wonder if they feel it calling them back!
Today's Random Fact..... I'm not a terribly emotional person..... or at least I hide it at every chance..... but things like this..... they kinda get to me!
I did another shot similar to this a while back..... i guess you can tell what those childhood days still mean to me! :)

This is definately taking me back.....kids dont even do stuff like this anymore. Remember playing Red Rover.....and Red Light Green Light.....and tag.....kids just dont have to have an imagination anymore theyve got computers and video games to think for them.

*GASP* I know exactly what you are talking about! Especially the neighbor kids part.... I lived on a street with lots of kids.. we would chase and catch fireflies every night in Texes!

I know this feeling exactly! Summer time is my favorite, and also the most nostalgic for me. I love being about to go barefoot until it is dark and then come in exhausted. And sleep in the cool air conditioning!
